CoMoDo and the Spoleto high security prison.

Comodo was established in March 2002 as a social cooperative. of designers, journalists and inmates. For 10 years, CoMoDo has done educational and training activities inside the Spoleto high security penitentiary. These relates to communication and graphic design, working with small group of hard prison regime inmates. The program, alternates design oriented class with laboratorial practice in locale of the prison typography. Over the years, various projects, products and communication initiatives have been made with strong social connotations. Each time focusing on themes, such as: time, freedom, cuisine, childhood, where detainee become designers and testimonials at the same time. The last project realized done was Freedom Room in 2013.
